PESTGARD BIRD SCARE HOLOGRAPHIC TAPE 150 METER ROLLS
BIRD SCARE TAPE is an iridescent diffraction foil that dramatically affects the bird’s vision, hearing and feeling. By combining holography, wind and light it creates an off limit zone which deters pest birds.Bird scare tape is made of 25 mm wide polyester ribbon imprinted with a holographic pattern of interlocking circles. This pattern resembles the eyes of owls, who are the natural predators of many birds. This three dimensional image medium reflects all of the colors of the spectrum with laser-like intensity.
For Boats and open factory or warehouse doorways: We suggest in our instruction sheet provided how to install & treat boats, farms, factories, carports, rafters & beams where birds roost & nest, & open doors in barns, factories and warehouses, this tape used in conjunction with our electronic bird scarer really enhances the affect of both. Visual deterrents support and enhance the electronic sonic and ultrasonic devices
HOW TO BEST USE THE TAPE: Regardless of the surface you intend to protect, study the actual area closely for clues to the optimum deployment pattern of the material. (Example: if you are able to determine that the birds typically approach the infested area from the same direction you will know where to begin your installation.)
USING STAKES IN THE GROUND: Acquire some suitable stakes with a hole or create one in the top of the stake, place the stakes in the ground every 30 to 40 cms, thread the tape through the hole at the top of the stake, twisting as you thread it through the hole. When firmly affixed to the top of the stake the tape will stream out and flutter and rustle in the wind. This installation is particularly effective with birds attacking strawberries or other close the the ground produce.
MAYPOLE: Use smooth strong pole or any other suitable stake to vertically support the tape. Gather 12 or more lengths of tape, having first cut them 1/5 to 2/3rd the height of the support, then attach the cut lengths of tape to the top of the pole by winding the tape around the top off the pole and then twisting waterproof tape over the top to hold all in place. Sometimes it is advisable to cut a slot in the top of the pole and slip the tape down in the slot then twist and encapsulate with waterproof tape.
THE WRAP: for orchards , especially fruit trees, being particularly vulnerable to bird strike, wrap the tree, by spiraling the tree with tape from top to bottom, alternately make a maypole up attach tape to the pole and poke it above the tree tops and strap the pole to the trunk of the tree.
STREAMERS: you can multiply the effect of the tape by attaching cross strips to main runners or attaching to branches. Simply cut 500mm lengths and tie to branches with waterproof tape.
ONLY PUT THE TAPE OUT AT FIRST BUD & REMOVE AT HARVEST TIME.
LEAVE OUT TOO LONG & THE BIRDS WILL NO LONGER BE FRIGHTENED OF THIS DETERRENT.
